Player Profiles - First Team :

Club Captain since 2000, Natalie sets the pace in the middle and her positional sense blends the whole team together.

Known for her on-court stares, half-time pep talks and annoyance at talking spectators!

Natalie has just passed her Level 1 coaching award.
Cheryl joined the club in 1994 and has proved to be a vital cog in the Istead machine.

She is a former representative of England University Netball Squad (many, many moons ago!) and has been described as 'a dream to play with' by her team-mates!

Despite all this she's still prone to the odd crisis of confidence...tut!
Mel joined the club as a junior and has been a rock in defence ever since.

Known for her all-action style she's our answer to Steven Gerrard! Specialities include the on-the-run bowling pass and hitting the ground..post..fence...

Also known to do anything for a bag of Haribo mix! Mel also represented Kent at U19 level.
Nicola is another long-standing member of the club having joined over 10 yrs ago.

Tall, versatile and one of the more passive members of the team, she'll put in a good performance wherever she plays.

Known for her love of the GK bib and for the phrase "I don't do running."
This is Lee's (that's not her real name...answers on a postcard!) fourth season with the club.

Lee slotted in nicely and is able to play both in attack as well as defence. She also throws a ball faster than she speaks!

And let's not forget the real reason we let her join .......... she brings the sweets!
Jo has been with the club since 2001 and is our unflappable GK. She adopts a 'laid-back' style of play but when we can get her to move she proves pretty useful!

Always one to say how it is, Jo often enjoys an on-court 'chat' with her opponents!

Ellie joined the club last season after being impressed with the Istead website (but of course!) and is now a very welcome member of the team.

Already developed an effective attacking combo with Natalie and has helped us go from strength to strength. We look forward to many more seasons with her in the team.
This is Zena's second season with Istead.

With velcro hands like hers she can play pretty much everywhere, but best not to put her in attack with Mel!!

Having played for Kent U19, Zena is fast, strong and never lacking in confidence. Look out for those long balls!
Vicky has joined us this season and will be a great addition in defence.

Having played with Mel in the summer seasons, they have built up a strong and effective partnership in the circle.

Vicky's speciality is the power lob and posing for photos!
Jo has joined us this season and will play in attack with Cheryl.

We're not quite sure what Jo does for a living so if you spot her at work please let us know!.

Never one to take the easy shot, she goes for the glory shots and pops them in from the edge.
Like Jo and Vicky, Carly has joined us this season from Barnscray.

She'll share the workload in the middle with Nat, as she is known in netters circles as 'one of the fittest around'.

Also known for always being cold - who brings heat pads to netball!?.
We managed to snag another recruit from Barnscray!

Denise is one of the nicest people ever to don a netball skirt - although come to think of I've never seen her in one!?

Denise is a super GK but we've recently found out she can run as well, so get used to that WD bib Denise! .
